Who we are

This website

When you buy a licence we store your name, email address, company name, the licence issued and the order reference so we can deliver the licence, provide support and comply with tax law. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. We do not sell your details, and we never give your name or e-mail address to advertisers.

The early-bird list

If you join the early-bird list we keep your e-mail address, the name you give (if any), when you joined and the wording you agreed to. We use them for one thing: to tell you when ServerMaid sales open and send your early-bird discount code. The first e-mail asks you to confirm your address, and nothing else is sent until you do. At launch we create a personal single-use discount code for you in Stripe, our payment processor, labelled with your e-mail address. Every e-mail has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also ask privacy@servermaid.com to remove you. We delete the list once the launch e-mails have gone out, apart from people who then buy a licence.

Cookies and advert measurement

The website itself needs no tracking cookies: signing in to your account uses one essential cookie, and your cookie choice is remembered in your own browser. To see which adverts and pages bring visitors and sales we use two measurement tools, and both are loaded only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. The Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd sets its own cookies on this site (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Facebook advert) and receives the pages you visit here, that you started a checkout, and the value of a completed purchase with its order reference. Google Analytics from Google Ireland Ltd sets its own cookies (_ga and one _ga_ cookie for this site) and receives the pages you visit, where you came from, and a completed purchase with its order reference, amount and the modules bought. Neither receives your name, e-mail address or payment details from us. Each company uses this under its own privacy policy, and Meta may link it to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. If you press Reject, or never choose, nothing is loaded and no request goes to Meta or Google. Your choice lasts twelve months.

The software

ServerMaid runs on your server. It contacts only the package sources it needs (windows.php.net, MySQL or MariaDB, Let's Encrypt when you ask for a certificate), our update feed to check for new versions, and servermaid.com to activate a licence. When you install a licence, and each time Server setup or repair runs, ServerMaid sends servermaid.com the licence id, the server's machine identifier, host name and ServerMaid version so the licence's server limit can be enforced; the public address the request came from is recorded with it. Nothing else leaves the server: no logs, no site contents, no telemetry. Support bundles are created only when you ask and are redacted before they are written.
