Guide: scaling out

Need another Windows web server? Have it built in minutes, identical to the last

One server is a project. The third is a chore, and by the fifth nobody remembers which settings went where. ServerMaid builds every server from the same plan, so the next one takes a couple of minutes and matches the others exactly.

Server setup £99 £49.50 plus Websites and SSL £79, £39.50 per server for twelve months, unlimited websites. 30-day money-back promise.

Why hand-built servers drift apart

Every server set up by hand is a little different: a PHP setting changed during a late fix, a firewall rule added for one client, a certificate renewed on a different schedule. None of it is written down, and all of it surfaces at the worst moment.

ServerMaid replaces the memory with a plan. Each build uses the same versioned security baseline and the same recommended defaults, is previewed before it runs, and is recorded step by step. The server you build next month matches the one you built today.

When something changes behind your back, a drifting setting or an expired certificate, the health score says so in plain English and the Fix button puts it back.

How it works

From order to live server, every time

Rent the server

Any Windows Server 2019, 2022 or 2025 VPS or dedicated server, from whichever provider suits the client or the region.

Build from the same plan

Quick setup applies the recommended defaults and the same hardening baseline as every other server. Preview the plan, press BUILD MY SERVER, done in minutes.

Add sites or move them in

Create websites with one form each, or bring sites across from an old server with ServerMaid Migrate and Import.

* Free SSL certificates need the Websites and SSL module (included in Agency and Enterprise licences) on a licence within its twelve-month period. Certificates come from Let's Encrypt; new websites get one while the licence is in date, and certificates already issued keep renewing.

Checklist for each new server

  1. Update Windows first. Let Windows Update finish on the fresh server and reboot until nothing is pending.
  2. Copy two files. The ServerMaid installer and the licence go on the server's desktop. Agency licences cover three, six or twelve servers, with more added in packs of twelve.
  3. Lock down Remote Desktop. Advanced setup can limit Remote Desktop to the address you are connecting from, with more locations added later from the Remote Desktop access page.
  4. Build and check the score. Run the build, confirm you can still reach the server, then re-run checks. A new server should land in the nineties.
  5. Add or migrate the websites. One form per new site, or an import package from the old server with every site and database rebuilt the ServerMaid way.
  6. Watch the fleet. Your account shows every server each licence is active on and how each one is doing, with security drift alerts on Agency licences.

Questions about running several servers

How long does a new server take?

The build itself takes a couple of minutes on a typical VPS. Letting Windows Update finish on a fresh server usually takes longer than ServerMaid does.

Will every server really be the same?

Every build applies the same versioned security baseline and, with Quick setup, the same recommended defaults. Differences only come from choices you make on purpose, and the build report records them.

How is it licensed for several servers?

Agency licences cover three, six or twelve servers with every module included, billed yearly. Larger fleets add packs of twelve on the twelve-server tier.

Can I move a client's sites onto a new server?

Yes. ServerMaid Migrate exports websites and MySQL or MariaDB databases from the old Windows server into one package, and Import rebuilds each site on the new one.

Do I need a separate tool to watch them all?

No. Your ServerMaid account shows every server each licence is active on and its status, and Agency licences add security drift alerts per server.
